The system is utilized by federal, state, county, and local agancies in order to facilitate interoperable voice and mobile data communications across the entire state.

The City of Muncie, Police, Delaware County E.M.S., and Muncie Fire Department currently uses the system in analog modulation format with both mobile and portable radios.

The Delaware County Sheriff currently uses a Analog local VHF radio system, primarily,  however, does maintain analog modulation talkgroups on the Indiana SAFE-T system.

There are online scanners here at Scan Muncie for your listening enjoyment. The online scanners is provided for both the City of Muncie and Delaware County Law Enforcement. Additionally ScanMuncie is working on online scanners for Muncie Fire Department and EMS.

From the Official IPSC Web Site:

As of August, 2009, 132 SAFE-T communications sites are on the air. More than 50,000 radios from 900 agencies in all 92 Indiana counties are entered into our database. In addition to the original 126-site plan, the SAFE-T buildout map now includes sites contributed by counties as well as sites to be built with federal Public Safety Interoperable Communications grant funds. These additions will increase the number of network sites to 149, resulting in wider and more reliable coverage for Hoosier first responders.
