Dispatchers in Muncie are among those nationally who often aren't able to quickly pinpoint the location of many 911 calls from cellphones. According to a recent investigation by USA Today, dispatchers often only see where the nearest cell tower is, if they get any information at all.

02/28/2015   Engineer says Mounds Lake Reservoir plan has fatal flaws

Plans to create Indiana's first new reservoir in more than four decades are fatally flawed because there would be no buyer for its water for 35 years, the former director of engineering for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources says. Engineer Thomas Holman told a gathering in Yorktown recently that a proposal to dam the White River in Anderson and create the $440 million Mounds Lake Reservoir would have minimal impact on flood control and isn't needed to boost the water supply because it's cheaper to bring water from the Ohio and Wabash rivers.

An Indianapolis police officer took a sip of McDonald's iced tea over the weekend and wound up in the hospital because the drink apparently was contaminated with cleaning chemicals, his wife told ABC News. Reserve Officer Paul Watkins went to the McDonald's at around 10 p.m. Saturday night for a self-serve tea before his shift, his wife Jerilyn Watkins said, adding that she wasn't with him at the time and his lawyer advised him not to speak to the media.
